Guests are always telling us how much they appreciate our recommendations, so we thought we should share a few with you! These are all of our employees’ favorite restaurants on Maui. Check them out before or after a flight, we’re sure you won’t be disappointed!
Paia Fish Market
Close to the heliport and always a must do in Paia is the Paia Fish Market. Hands down the best fish sandwich I have had on the island. This place is always busy so you know that the fish is fresh and good. Beer and wine available too. Family style with big tables to share and don't worry if you don't find a seat right away. By the time your food is ready a spot will open up. My pick is the Mahi Sandwich with fries but their fish tacos and salads are really good too! And the town is kind of a hippie surf town so really fun to wander around after at the unique shops and boutiques.
Mama’s Fish House
Mama's Fish house is like the one spot if you want to splurge on a really nice dinner. If you do one big amazing meal here, this place is it! Definitely expensive but such a total dining experience. I like to recommend it because it seems to be the one restaurant here that constantly has rave reviews. Open air, really nice staff and incredibly fresh fish. The menu even tells you what fish it is, who caught it and on what boat. Usually caught that morning or night before. And you HAVE to get the Kuau pie for dessert! Such a treat.
Fabiani's in Kihei is our go to place with the kids. We always seem to go here when family or friends are visiting too. The one in North Kihei off Lipoa Street. Family run Italian restaurant with amazing homemade pastas and really good salads and pizzas. The owner is so nice and great with the kids and there is even an outdoor area with a bunch of kid toys and cars that the kids can go play with while we finish our meal. Casual but so good and I think the owner's wife makes the desserts and you have to save room for them! The Lilikoi Roulade, Tiramisu cheesecake and Red Velvet cake are all our favorites (there are a lot to choose from) and are made in house.
I enjoy Casanova Bistro in Kahului. They serve tapas starting at 3pm and dinner from 5-9pm. They have a happy hour from 4pm - 6pm Sun - Fri and all day Saturday. They have carafes of mojitos or margaritas made with two shots or a carafe of wine for $5. Also, stop by on the way to your airport when you leave and bring your boarding pass for a special treat. Buy an entree and get a free sweet crêpe!
I love Monkeypod in Wailea! The atmosphere is great and they have delicious cocktails and 36 draft beers. Happy hour is from 3:00-5:30pm and 9:00-11:00pm. They have drink discounts, 50% off appetizers, and $9 pizzas. Their food is very fresh and always delicious. Our favorites are the pumpkin patch ravioli and the wood-roasted chicken wings. They have live music from 1:00-3:00pm, 4:00-6:00pm, and 7:00-9:00pm. You can eat inside or outside and the service is great too!

Here is what some of our guests have to say about recommendations we have provided:
“This was a fun adventure. The pilot was great. And, the staff was really friendly and helpful. They made recommendations at a local restaurant which were amazing. Really great folks. Can't wait to see them again next visit.” - A7768WCjohnt
“We had a very positive experience with everyone at Air Maui. They accommodated the day and time that we needed, they were knowledgeable, professional and very friendly. Our pilot, Dylan, did a terrific job pointing out beautiful spots, sharing history of the islands and taking us up close and personal to beautiful hidden gems. Would definitely book with this group again. Also, the woman at the counter made reservations for us at the most desirable restaurant on Maui, Mama’s Fish House! What a treat!” - Vacations_R_Us55
“Amazing tour. We did the west Maui 60 minute trip and it was definitely the highlight of the trip. Janette was our pilot and she gave us a great ride. She narrated the tour and gave us amazing views. The best part was the Jurassic park scene with the music playing as we entered the valley. Surreal. We also got to see the wall of tears. The girls at the front desk were all so friendly, accommodating, and just simply nice. I asked one girl for recommendations on local food and she was totally right. Highly recommend this helicopter tour. Thanks Air Maui!” - M J.
